Hi All, Here's the next meetup. Karen Richards, a former fully qualified nurse and trained spiritual coach will be holding a guided meditation for us. Don't worry if you've never meditated before as it will be very straight forward.
Meditation, for those that are unfamiliar, is a way of mastering our minds and gaining clearer insight into ourselves and our lives. The benefit is greater focus, a calmer state of mind and increased all round well-being (psychological studies have demonstrated this!). To join us please arrange to make a contribution of £5 to me. The title of this group has opened up a few questions, such as who makes the difference and what do they do, with whom or what? Ultimately, it leads to the question: what are we all doing here in the first place? Is it just to procreate and be the fittest to survive or is there something beyond our own immediate needs, our own biological drives. I hope through this talk to touch on some of the thoughts that you may have already been having and add some of my own along with my experiences and/or insights. I'm organising a boat warming with drinks and nibble at the boat, followed by a possible night out in the city. There are a host of restaurants, bars, clubs and shops. I would like to invite those that are interested to pay a visit to one of my favourite shops around this area called, Zen. They offer a whole host of all things related to physical, spiritual and emotional well-being including tarot reading!

It's time we had a get together. Enjoy a drink, perhaps even an ale, get aquainted and bring your thoughts on future events. The Admiral Nelson, Braunston, Northamptonshire sits at the heart of the canal system and is a popular boater's pub. Depending on the engineers progress, my boat may or may not be moored outside (if not, it'll be further down outside their yard)! Once it's up and running, I plan to tour the Midlands so there will be events around the region...

This goes on over two days Thursday 28th May and friday 29th May. It's excellant for personal growth. There will be loads of free talks and advice from coaches, entrepreneurs and mentors on a variety of aspects including creating powerful personal and professional goals, becoming and being a coach, to building financial independance. Also the chance to speed network for all the existing business owners in our group. Check out www.bstartup.com I suggest we meet up at the beginning and then at the end. You're invited to celebrate the festive season together at this Chinese buffet restaurant. There's a huge range, including some English dishes, so it's suitable for all pallets. It's a very reasonable £5.99 p/pn excluding drinks. If we can get 40 people together, I'll organise the hire of their private room with the opportunity for a member to give a half-an-hour talk on their field, so please feel free to invite any like-minded friends/associates!

Revised version... I have noted the poll from members and I wanted to say, 'thank you' for taking the time to complete it. I agree that it would be nice to get together informally so I wanted to invite you to a very special and magical oasis in Coventry. I have been a couple of times as a member of the Warwickshire Trust. There will be a 'Food, Farm & Beer Fesival' from 11am to 4pm and they will be hosting their own mini farmers market where you will be able to sample and buy locally farmed products from free range eggs, homemade sausages, fresh fruit and ice cream. They will also be a selection of locally brewed beer, ale and cider and some locally produced wine from vineyards in Warwickshire. During the day, there wll be talks and demonstrations on how to grow your own organic vegetables, even in a window sill and guided walks including activities for anyone bringing kids along. Non-members enter for £2 and members get in for £1. Children under 10 are free. Parking is totally free and there is no entry fee to just use the cafe and look round the visitors centre. Call the number provided, if you want to find out more, however. If some of you just want to meet for a drink/bit to eat, we can meet in the cafe at 1pm. I have had some long conversations with Dr Frank Lee. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience as a hypnotherapist. He is renowned in his field for his work to relieve his clients,
sometimes instantly, from debilitating conditions such as agoraphobia (fear of going out) and for banishing other negative thoughts and behaviours. He has led full life so he makes a great story teller too! On Friday 15th August 2008 he is hosting a stage hypnotist show in which all proceeds go to the Mercia MS Therapy fund. He will demonstrate the amazing powers of the mind using the principles of hypnosis, such as mind reading, incredible body strength, telepathy and magic. Afterwards, there is a buffet and a disco. It promises to be a fascinating yet entertaining night - all for just ten pounds (and even then you will be helping a worthy cause). Meditation as a route to greater inner peace is well documented by the medical and psychological profession for its benefits both on the mind and body. These include relieving stress and increasing cognitive ability and lowering blood pressure and improving the function of the immune system so it has obvious benefits to us as individuals, particularly if practised on a regular basis. However, today many people around the world are gathering to meditate on peace both within themselves and around them in their community and the nations. In fact, peace can only begin when we can conceive the idea and experience it ourselves. The positive correlation between our mindset and our behaviour is virtually a 'given', hence all the clinical research and intervention to master the mind in order to positively affect behaviour. So, my contribution to you is a half-an-hour guided meditation via the wonders of telephone conferencing (both very new skills for me so be gentle!) to instill this sense of peace within us all.
I will probably use Skype so it should actually be a case of just giving my username for those that have access to this. For others, calls via telephone to Skype are normally the national call rate of 4-5p per minute. I will confirm the details you need to dial in nearer the time. I really hope you can join me, but if you can't please take a moment in your day to stop and be silent and perhaps this will inspire us to take action to create more peace around us
